Late Sri Potnuru Swami Venkata Gopal
Sri Potnuru Swami Venkata Gopal was born in Gangavaram, in Visakhapatnam District. He was the village head of Gangavaram. He worked as a head master of Government School, Gangavaram. He was a Drama Artiste, and specialised in potraying various Indian mythological Characters. He was also a Harikatha Bhaagavathaar.
He married Lakshmi Kanthamma therby giving birth to four sons and four daughters. Of all his sons, Sri P. V. Narasimha Rao was the eldest, who followed his father’s tradition and thus became the Second Generation Artiste from his family as a Drama Artiste, Harikatha Bhaagavathaar, potraying various Indian mythological Characters. Other than these, he studied Natya Shastram and also acquired excellence in Carnatic music.
